Meet Chef CJ Nielsen
Chef CJ Nielsen has spent a lifetime in the kitchen, building a passion for food that began long before his professional culinary career. Some of his earliest memories are of cooking, preserving seasonal ingredients, and canning alongside his grandmother—experiences that instilled in him a deep appreciation for fresh, locally sourced food and the people who produce it.
CJ went on to attend the culinary program at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC), where he refined his skills and laid the foundation for a career in the culinary arts. Over the years, he has worked in a diverse range of respected restaurants, including Diavola in Geyserville, Barndiva and Spoonbar in Healdsburg, Bird & The Bottle in Santa Rosa, and Prescott Lakes Golf Course in Prescott, Arizona.
Each kitchen offered its own unique style, techniques, and challenges—from farm-to-table dining and wood-fired cooking to elevated contemporary cuisine and large-scale food service. This variety of experiences has given CJ a broad culinary perspective and the ability to create food that is both approachable and thoughtfully crafted.
After becoming new parents, CJ and his wife experienced firsthand how difficult it could be to consistently enjoy fresh, local, convenient meals while balancing the demands of family life. Living in an area surrounded by incredible farms and ranches, they saw an opportunity to create something they wished had existed for their own family—a way to bring high-quality, locally sourced food directly to busy households.
That vision became the foundation of their company: providing delicious, convenient meals made with ingredients sourced from local farms and ranches whenever possible. Their goal is simple—to help families enjoy fresh, thoughtfully prepared food while supporting the local agricultural community that makes it all possible.
Chef CJ brings decades of experience, a lifelong love of cooking, and a commitment to quality to every meal, making it easier for others to enjoy the kind of food he has always believed in.
